Program Description
Learn-the -basics of diving with Dive Victoria's Learn-to-Dive program for children age 5 - 8 years. This program will introduce participants to the sport of diving using a fun, creative and age-appropriate approach when teaching a variety of skills that lay the foundation for a future in High Performance diving, as well as teaching physical literacy competencies that will benefit them in any other sport or physical activity. Each one-hour session will introduce skills such as balance, coordination, agility, strength and flexibility through dryland activities, as well as time learning diving technique in the water. Additional skills such as body awareness, posture, listening and concentration will be emphasized. Participants MUST be able to swim independently in the deep water to participate in this program.

Registration Policy
We want registration to be simple and transparent. Here are a few things to know before booking: *REGISTRATION WITH NSO & PSO* BC Diving & Diving Plongeon Canada Registration ($38/Year & Free for Try-It Events): All participants must also be registered with BC Diving and Diving Plongeon Canada before their first class. This registration is separate from your Dive Victoria class registration and class fees and is required only once per diving season (September 1–August 31). *OTHER PAYMENT METHODS* (1) If you are paying the fees with cash or cheque, please bring them on your first session. (2) If you are paying the fees with e-transfers, please send them to divevictoriaprograms@gmail.com. *REGISTERING AFTER START OF THE PROGRAMS* You are welcome to join a session after classes have started, subject to availability. If you register late, a credit/adjustment will be applied for the classes that took place before your registration. *RESERVED SPOT* Your registration reserves your participant's place in the program and covers the scheduled classes for the session. *REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS* (1) Refunds After Classes Begin: Once a session has started, refunds may not always be possible, as coaching, pool time and program costs are arranged based on registrations. If something unexpected comes up, please contact us and we will do our best to work with you. (2) Classes Cancelled by Dive Victoria: If Dive Victoria needs to cancel a class and cannot provide a replacement class, an appropriate credit will be provided. *PARTICIPANTS SWIMMING ABILITY REQUIRMENTS* All participants MUST be able to swim independently in the deep water to participate in this program.
